Dental implants are an important part of what we do in our office. Whether you lost a tooth due to an accident, tooth decay, or you need an implant as part of the installation of permanent dentures/overdentures, our team is ready to care for you.
What the Procedure Involves
The installation of dental implants is a surgery that is performed under anesthesia in our office. Our doctor will make small incision into the gum to reveal the bone, and then makes a small hole which will become the location of the implant. After the implant is installed, a post or abutment is installed. The post is what the crown or permanent dentures will be attached to.
Healing Process
The healing process varies greatly from patient to patient. Typically patients will recover within 3 to 7 days, after which most discomfort should have subsided. The process of osteointegration (the fusion between the implant and the bone) usually takes between 3 to 6 months. This happens “behind the scenes” and does not involve any pain.
With you Every Step of the Way
We know how anxious some patients get when it comes to dental surgery. This is why our team will be by your side every step of the way. We want you to be as comfortable as possible during this process that, we promise, will be a lot easier than you anticipated.
Lab on Premises
Esthetic & Implant Dentistry has a lab on premises which allows us to make same-day dentures, crowns, bridges and most prosthetic repairs. This way our patients do not have to wait for a busy lab for their prosthetics to be ready.
